for the love of calendula sunshine...

as my first "free-style" contribution to our blog, i wanted to keep it simple and my immediate thought was of LTB's humble, yet potent calendula sunshine salve. while it's name underscores its infinite uses during the summer season, i find myself turning to this golden salve several times a day as my "skin doth protest" during the transition between seasons. if love can blossom in the fall as well as spring, then let me declare my devotion!

it's not just the radiant yellow color that is bringing a little sunshine to my life, it's the easily absorbed texture and the delicate, barely-there botanical scent of healing calendula that make me swoon. on a tip from erin, i tried a tiny dot of the calendula sunshine salve as an eye cream at night. upon waking, i was bright eyed and bushy tailed (while i may have other aspirations for my rear side, my toddler likes the idea of this!). more importantly, the skin around my eyes was smooth and dewy (not puffy!) - despite the drying effects of forgetting that last glass of water before day's end and sleeping in an old, old house at 1,600 ft. above sea level.

and, what's an ode to love without mention of the lips? toothpaste can be very drying (remember the ol' trick of using it to dry out a zit?), so i slather on calendula sunshine salve immediately after brushing. as i'm not very awake on either end of the day, it's a relief to know that i can be sloppy about it, covering my lips and around my mouth without worrying that i'll actually have to put toothpaste on a blemish - i haven't had a single one that i can blame on my beloved salve. when i feel my lips need a fresh start (or to prep them for this season's "red lip", which just won't tolerate dry and flaky), i mix a bit of sugar with my sunshine salve and gently rub for an amazing exfoliating treatment. and lastly, i lately tried a bit of calendula sunshine salve mixed with a drop of our apricot kernal pure therapy (for the added anti-bacterial boost) to combat a particularly mean hang-nail, and needless to say, i was wooed!

so, maybe i kept it simple, but certainly not short... i'll learn, i promise!

hope you too, find a ray of sunshine to get you through the dreary and cold days (of course, we're more than happy to ship you your own private stash).

best,

tiffany
